"The 'meaning' of life is not to be found in anything other than that life itself. It is within it, and there is nothing beyond that."

Henri Lefebvre

From March 2018 I have been taking part in the first period of a three year long residency and production project with Household CIC in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Whilst in Belfast I have been working with the various super-positioned communities that have present and past connections to Sailortown, a formerly working class neighbourhood between the harbour and the city centre that was demolished in the 1960s to make way for infrastructure projects that are still incomplete today.

We have been developing strategies for working collectively with the different communities of place for whom Sailortown is a centre point, considering the re-performative nature of memory, and the focussing on the granular recollection of life in a now disappeared neighbourhood. Concurrently we have been developing through workshops collaborations with young residents of the area and various communities of place who meet in the few buildings left standing from before the road building of 1970s urban developments.
With each group we are working on tools for playing out the memory of every day life, the quotidian and the trivial, particularly the daily routine of places dislocated from their remembrance.
