Video 2014

In 1990 a meteorite fell through the roof of a house in a small town on the Dutch German border. In a short travelogue film the camera presents the roaming eye of the artist/investigator as I tried to establish where this happened through asking people about it in shops and on the street where it happened. As I got increasingly lost, and people sent me in many wrong directions a slightly sinister, Stepford Wives tone infected my reading of the town. At heart its a short film, wandering periphery of a small border town, investigating how a story spreads through a population, how an event becomes folklore and how information is outsourced into the internet, and how conversation can be a site for revealing these social vectors.
